What is Restoring Relationships?
Restoring Relationships is a ministry dedicated to helping you find freedom of heart and soul by taking you on your own personal journey through Calvary.
From the most tender young age we all experience hurt, betrayal, or offense through relationship with someone we loved or expected more from. These wounds, whether intentional or unintentional, immediately make an imprint in our thoughts and feelings, and influence our behavior. Our response to these offenses at the time they occur determines whether or not our wounds heal or become infected. Infected wounds create growing toxicity in the soul that spills out onto those around us causing recognizable conflict within self and in interactions with others.
The Restoring Relationships journey helps the participant to first identify the root cause of their inner and relational conflicts, and then take action to heal the wound and experience hope, healing, and victory for their soul.
The program uses a combination of Bible based teachings (live or video), short readings, and writing exercises to facilitate the process of healing and restoration.
How can I tell if this program is for me?
Is this program geared towards married people?
Restoring Relationships is not specifically a marriage program. It is designed for everyone with a strong emphasis placed on the restoration we all need in our relationship with God (yes, even for those who are ‘born again’). It can, however, help tremendously in cases where a marriage relationship has been compromised or if a couple simply desires more intimacy with one another. It can also be used as part of a premarital counseling program.
I don’t feel like I have any relationships that need to be restored. Is this program for me?
Yes. If there is any area of your life in which you feel you are not walking in complete victory, Restoring Relationships can help. As you walk through this journey, it is important that you are absolutely honest with yourself and with God. The revelations that come from the truth of your heart will show you things about yourself that you have never seen before. Those same answers will provide you with wisdom and insight about your most precious relationships.
How does Restoring Relationships work?
Restoring Relationships uses a combination of Bible based teachings (live or video), short readings, and writing exercises to facilitate the process of healing and restoration. The program helps the participant to first identify the root cause of their inner and relational conflicts, and then take action to heal the wound and experience hope, healing, and victory for their soul.
Do I have to have a journal?
Yes. Without the accompanying journal, a participant will miss out on crucial reading material and writing exercises that are not presented in the videos. These components are necessary for you to receive the full benefit of the Restoring Relationships model.
Can I just watch the videos?
No. Participants need to complete the reading assignments and writing exercises in order to receive the full benefit of the Restoring Relationships model.
How can I get my spouse/child/parent/friend to complete a Restoring Relationships journey?
The very best way to influence another to take their own Restoring Relationships journey is to first complete one yourself with 100% effort, honesty, and vulnerability before the Lord. Even if you have experienced a great deal of healing in the past, the Lord will always take us to a new level (from Glory to Glory) when we present ourselves willing. As your loved one sees you becoming more complete in Christ and whole as a person, you will have the opportunity to recommend Restoring Relationships to them with a sincere and meaningful testimony. The key is show, don’t tell.
What should I do if I get stuck while working through my journey?
The first step to take is to spend time in prayer. As the Lord to help tear down any walls you have placed around yourself and to show you what you cannot see. Spend a few days in prayer and worship, seeking the Lord with an open heart.
If you find that you are still struggling while putting forth genuine effort, our team is available to assist you. You may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or (570)523-0605.
I have been upset/angry for days and feel worse than I did before I started the journey. Isn’t it supposed to help?
This is a very common, normal reaction to the healing process. Congratulations! The way you are responding is good fruit to indicate that you are putting forth genuine effort before the Lord. It is extremely important that you continue to remain obedient to the process. Stick with us and the Holy Spirit. We’ll get you through it.
How can I bring this program to my church?
The very first step is to complete an online journey with us yourself. Even if you have experienced a great deal of inner healing in the past, the Lord will always take us to a new level (from Glory to Glory) when we present ourselves willing. As your church leaders see you becoming more complete in Christ and whole as a person, you will have the opportunity to recommend Restoring Relationships to them with a sincere and meaningful testimony.
Meanwhile, encourage a few good friends or leaders to complete an Online Journey as well. It will help you to have several testimonies when it comes time to bring the message of Restoring Relationships to the church leadership.
If you would like to have Christian Psychologist Dominic Herbst or a member of his team speak to your congregation or you would like to set up a LIVE Restoring Relationships Encounter event, please contact our offices at (570)523-0605.
How do I become a Restoring Relationships coach?
Becoming a Restoring Relationships coach requires you to first complete your own journey and then submit your writing exercises to Bethesda Family Services for review. Once you are cleared as having successfully completed your own journey, we will provide you with coaches training to review. If you believe you are ready to take this step, please contact our offices at email@example.com or (570)523-0605.
You may also wish to contact our offices about Certification should you like to see Restoring Relationships become a part of your ministry.
